Lindsay and Dan Snider of Walker are building a bigger home to accommodate their growing family.
"Looking for three bedroom," Dan says. "Something around 2,400 square feet at least."
"There's just not enough room!" his wife Lindsay adds. "We have more toys than we do furniture! So we just need where everybody has their own space, where everybody can go and get away from each other. Have their own part of the house."
The Sniders are just one of several families to attend the 2006 Great American Home Show looking for answers to their numerous questions.
"For Sale" signs have been popping up all over our area.
Real estate agent Desni Crock says that's because it's a buyer’s market.
"It's great for buyers, not so great for sellers. Sellers are tending to hear in the media there's this huge increase in the value of their homes, which is true. However, it's not in this area so much. We've seemed to level out."
Crock says houses are still selling in this area; however, it's just taking a little longer than normal.
Even though mortgage rates continue to hover right around six percent.
United Bank Customer Service Representative Melody Lemley says, "This is a good time to purchase your home and lock in that lower rate because rates are on the rise."
If you weren't able to make it to the Home Show Friday or Saturday, it will also be going on Sunday from noon to four at the old Kroger building behind the Grand Central Mall.
Admission is $2 for adults, and children 12 and under get in free.
