Two boys lost control of a four wheeler Monday morning and luckily it didn't take a turn for the worst.

Williamstown Police say two brothers were riding on their grandfather's ATV when the three-year-old hit the thumb controlled accelerator.

They drove it into a flag pole at an Enviro-Tech International facility on Armstrong Avenue in Williamstown.

Neither boy was wearing a helmet.

The three-year-old was taken by private vehicle to the hospital. On Monday afternoon he was no longer listed as a patient.

Police say he suffered from a bump on his head.

The other rider is a 14-year-old who police say appeared to be fine.

We rode bicycles and horses not dirt bikes or ATVs. You are right 'Voice of Opinion'parents should be held accountable. I would have never let a 3 year old alone with a 14 year old.

What was a 3 year old doing in the care of a 14 year old? Especially on an ATV!!!!!!!!! And where were the adults? Go figure!!!

Don't worry. There will be no fines or charges handed out due to this accident. This is Williamstown. Our Police Department doesn't write tickets, or hand out fines....nothing. Oh...and a 3 year old on a 4 wheeler with a 14 year old. Real smart Grandpa! You wouldn't get a bump on the head if you were wearing a helmet. Isn't that the law.

get a grip, 20 years ago when we were growing up we never wore helmets, stayed out past dark, and had accidents that we learned from, a 3 year old shouldnt have been on an ATV but i dont think calling someone bad parents is fair, all parents make mistakes

Parents should be tried with abuse and reckless endangerment. CHILDREN are not responsible enough to be riding such a machine especially without a helmet.

I think some parent/grandparent best be thanking God that these kids are alright! If you are gonna ride like that, you should have made sure helmets where on them!

Another fine example of parenting.
