A local charity now has the funds to stay open thanks to a generous donation!
Thursday morning, the Wood County Rotary presented Kids First with a check for ten thousand dollars.
The money was raised at the Rotary's annual Celebrity Golf Tournament last month.
Kids First is a non-profit organization that helps children with divorced parents.
"About a year ago we were really thinking that we were going to have to shut our doors. But with this money it will help pay our utilities. It will help pay for the supplies that we need and it will also pay for the security that we need from off-duty Parkersburg Police Officers," says Director of Kids First Progam Ann Pifer.
After the check presentation, Ellen Davisson walked members of the Rotary through the meaning behind the folding of the American Flag in honor of the Fourth of July holiday.
