It's something kids and families of North Hills look forward to each year, their annual Fourth of July celebration. Organizers say it's a way to open up dialogue with children about the importance of the day.
It was the town's tenth annual Fourth of July parade and celebration.
This year veterans from American Legion Post 15 led the nearly 200 people in the parade down North Hills Drive.
Bikes, floats, and kids were decked out in red, white, and blue for the event.
"We just think it's important for the kids to know that there's more to the Fourth of July than just fireworks and picnics. This opens up a lot of good dialogue with the kids about you know who are these people here leading our parade, their veterans, and what does that mean, you know they fought for our country," said Teri King, organizer.
Residents joined together in singing the National Anthem and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were also carnival games, a parade float contest, food, and more.
