Honoring Rufus Putnam
WTAP News Two local groups came together Friday morning to honor one of the Mid-Ohio Valley's most influential Revolutionary War Generals.

Two local groups came together Friday morning to honor one of the Mid-Ohio Valley's most influential Revolutionary War Generals.
General Rufus Putnam was honored Friday at the Mound Cemetery in Marietta by the Grand Lodge of Ohio and the American Union Lodge Number 1 for being on of Marietta's Founding Fathers.
Putnam's ceremony was done in part by the Masonic Lodge because he made an enormous contribution to Masonry he was the first Grand Master of Masons in Ohio.
Officials unveiled a plaque dedicated to Putnam's life as hundreds of folks looked on.
