The Washington County Fairboard has been organizing the fireworks in Marietta for years. This Saturday night, organizers say the weather could stop the show only if there's a downpour of rain.

Usually the fireworks at the Washington County Fairgrounds are on the Fourth of July.

This year the board scheduled it for Saturday so if people wanted to come in early for the demolition derby they could and it most likely wouldn't interfere with work schedules, since it's the weekend.

"We try to provide entertainment for the community. It costs us so we have to pass that cost on but we try to do it as cheaply as we can to bring the crowd in," said Steve Tornes, president of the Washington County Fairboard.

The display costs $5500 dollars this year.

Tornes says the best seats to see the fireworks are in the grand stands.

The demolition derby starts Saturday night at 7 p.m. and the fire works are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.

It costs six dollars to go on the grounds.
