The Washington County Sheriff's Department responds to calls of drunken behavior about every weekend but this weekend one Marietta man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing and wrecking an SUV, bursting into someone's home, and breaking into another vehicle.

Friday night Washington County Sheriff deputies found a van with a door open and Jacob Wood crawling through the grass near River City Tire on State Route 7.

"We have several occasions where intoxicated people do things that they probably wouldn't if they hadn't been drinking. This appears to be a case of that," said Sgt. Craig Brockmeier of the Washington Co. Sheriff's Department.

Officials said Wood's drunken behavior not only put his life in danger but also others.

"Not only does it put people in danger in the county as far as somebody entering the house that they probably wouldn't. Also last night all of our officers working shift were tied up on this complaint last night trying to locate this individual, trying to find out each and every crime that he's committed," Brockmeier.

There were three officers responding to separate calls but it wasn't until the bloodhound came on seen that all the pieces of the puzzle came back here to Electra Avenue.

"They were able to locate another vehicle that Mr. Wood had actually gone into and stolen from a residence," said Brockmeir.

He allegedly wrecked that Jeep Cherokee and burst into this home where the front door was unlocked.

"And Mr. Wood made an unwanted sexual advance to the gentleman's wife," said Brockmeier.

Officials believe that's when he moved on to where they found him in the beginning, outside River City Tire.

They believe he was looking for keys inside the last unlocked vehicle there but they believe the Jeep was also unlocked and the keys were inside it.

"From what I was told the Jeep was unlocked and we would ask people to lock their vehicles and secure their keys in the house," said Brockmeier.

Thanks to the new bloodhound "Rudy," officials were able to charge Wood with attempted burglary, grand theft auto, gross sexual imposition and breaking and entering.

Wood's being held in jail without bond until a court appearance Monday.
