A new way to honor our veterans was announced in Parkersburg Monday.
Officials want to keep cars from driving on the edges of the veterans memorials near the Washington Avenue entrance of City Park.
So, the city decided to build a raised walk around the memorials.
It will be made up of hundreds of bricks bearing the names of veterans.
Gary Farris, Director of the Veterans Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley says: "Anybody can buy a brick to honor a veteran. It will really make this area look a lot nicer than it does now with this mulch. There's room for 8500 bricks."
Mayor Bob Newell says they hope to have the walk completed by Veterans Day in November.
Each brick can be purchased for 50 dollars.
The money goes to the Veterans Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
You can pick up a form to buy a brick at United Bank in Parkersburg.
