WTAP has learned that the Blennerhassett Hotel in downtown Parkersburg is up for sale.

Sources say that the owner, Sam Ross, decided in the past 60 days to put the hotel on the market.

Ross has owned the hotel for more than a decade. Under his ownership, the hotel has undergone a massive renovation to become a showpiece in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

There are no potential buyers at this time. Sources tell WTAP that there is no timeframe in which any sale might be made.

WTAP continues to work on this breaking story. We'll have the latest on FOX Parkersburg News at Ten, WTAP News at Eleven and here on our web channel at WTAP.com.

It's a beautiful, historic hotel and should be kept as such. I hope any new owners keep the history and quality of the current hotel. One thing though - Sam Ross hasn't owned it for more than a decade, he's only had it since 2001.
