Hundreds of kids came out to City Park Friday for the Wood County Sheriff's Association's Annual Picnic.

Inflatable slides, a dunk tank and a real race car, were just a few of the activities the kids could enjoy, not to mention the hot dogs and hamburgers to chow down on.

The Association's President, Detective Shawn Graham, says what started as a small get together for under-privileged kids has turned into an event that many look forward to each year.

"It's just a way for us to give back to the community, we really enjoy helping the kids out, getting to know the kids and letting the children have a good time with the deputies. This helps them see that police officers are their friends and it just works really well and it's something we're planning on doing every year from here on out," says Graham.

Graham says this year might have had the biggest turnout yet.
