A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Little Hocking man missing nearly a week.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks told WTAP News that weapons were found in a search of the residence of Patrick Slider.
"At his location, we found three weapons that had been taken from a house burglary in Coolville off of State Route 144. There were four that were stolen over there, the one weapon that was missing was a .357 Magnum, and we believe that may still be in the possession of Mr. Slider."
Sheriff Mincks says Slider is being sought for Possession of Weapons while under a Disability.
"They were hidden in the engine compartment of a vehicle which was owned by Mr. Slider, and another one was located in the house. And the serial numbers matched those of weapons taken from a house burglary over in Coolville in Athens County."
The Sheriff's Department is asking the public for help in locating Slider, who is described as armed and dangerous.
Slider has not been seen since July 31st, when State Police found Slider's truck abandoned at Mountwood Park and blood on the marina ramp.
Police later said it's believed the 44 year old faked his disappearance to avoid an upcoming trial in early August.
West Virginia State Police say a missing persons report on Slider has not yet been completed, pending the return of test results from the state crime laboratory in Charleston.
Anyone with information on Slider's whereabouts is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Department at 740-376-7070, or the West Virginia State Police at 304-420-4600.
