As part of House Bill 3215, WVU Parkersburg is now governed by the local Board of Governors. The BOG also includes one representative each of the campus faculty, staff and student constituencies.
The panel allows WVU-P to maintain and continue its association with West Virginia University.
It also recognizes the Parkersburg campus as a higher education center offering community college programs and bachelor's degrees.
The Board reflects a new governance structure for WVU-P and other independently accredited community and technical colleges by creating a statewide network.
