Sherry...are you saying to look at this heinous crime with disapproval is not only sad but being self involved, or am I misinterputing your post? If you mean that it is being self involved, then let me say that I proudly raised my kids with a high standard of morals & they would not stoop to such a low level. I am glad to say they are also passing the same morals on to their children. There is no excuse for stealing the vases...I don't care what the reason is. Shame on anyone who would commit such a crime, but more importantly shame on people who feel what they did was ok. I was down on my luck several years ago. There is help out there to feed your family...no we didn't eat steak & baked potatoes, but we were able to eat. In addition to state assistance, there are food banks ran by many organizations & churches. I had to swallow my pride & go to them just so I could feed my kids. The thought of stealing never crossed my mind, & I will always be grateful for the morals my mom taught me.

Isn't it truly sad that society has come to this. At what point did we become so self involved that the theft of 100 vases from a cemetery is looked at with dissaproval but also with humor. Folks we have created a society where anything goes. We have lost our since of pride in the simple things. Our children are being raised with a lack of moral foundation and no character. When we look to the government to raise our children by imposing their ideals we are placing our children in the hands of already morally corrupt individual. I say no thank you. I am not sure the reason behind the thefts, was there a starving family, drug addiction, or jus a give it to me now attitude. We as a society need to start being accountable, for our actions and that would include how we treat our fellow man. I would be curious to know how many people saw the individuals responsible in need and turned their back so they could deny that somebody needed help.

GOOD JOB PPD!!! I have several relatives buried in both cemetaries. I was upset when I read this story online last week. I am glad the police dept was able to make a quick arrest in this. All I can say is I hope they charge them with every possible crime they can from this horrible theft. I don't understand how anyone can steal from the dead...they are low-life pond scum.
