exactly tammy. I've herd of dogs that ya get from a pet shop having that and other stuff so whats the big deal. She wasnt beating, starving etc. the dogs
When the time comes tolet these dogs goto good homes I hope I am one of the fortunate people as I love doxies, and would love to make them members of my family again. My last ones lived to be 15, and 16 years old. What great babies they are.
This in response to "Anonymous" what no name? I am not a relative. Once again, my concern is that the government can just walk in and walk off with someones anmimals, have you looked at pictures of these dogs? Do they look like they are starving to you, or mistreated? From what I can gather, they all had all their shots, worming, and etc. Coccidia is a bacteria that can be common in puppies, just like worms are common to puppies. I am sorry for your bad experience, my point is where do we draw a line with what is allowed by the government. Who gets to decide how many is to many. How many dogs do you own? It's none of my buisness is it??? That's my point.
I have a dog from her too. After looking at the woman's website I phoned her and made an appointment to go and see the dogs. I wanted a black & tan doxie. When we got there she brought two older pups down for me to look at and wouldn't let us go into her kennel. She said she didn't allow visitors. I knew that was a red flag because someone selling puppies should always let you see their kennel. The puppies were so pityful and so very scared of us. She said they were around 7 months old and just being shy because they didn't know us. I still have the sweet little dog and I thank God that I took her. She is still extremely timid and shy and won't easily go to strangers. She shivers and shakes if anyone other than us tries to hold her. She was even afraid to go outside so I knew she had never been out of a kennel before. She was terrified the first few times I put her in the grass and she would always use the bathroom in the kennel I kept her in at night.
Tammy, I have a dog from that woman. It was given to me one year ago. It was practially dead when it got here. It had coccidia. It takes 13 days for that to develop in a dog. I had the dog for 12 hours! It had several seizures and was very malnurished. It had some bad skin problems as well. All was documented by MY vet who suggested that I sue the woman. I refused to take the dog back to her because my vet told me that the dog was days away from dying! I've seen stray dogs in better health and with better socialization than this $800 purebred! I had to set my alarm for every 2 hours to wake up and give the dog medicine and pedilyte in order for it to survive. The dog was also extremly dehydrated upon arrival at my home. My vet was horrified when I took the dog to him to save. When she goes in for her annual check ups, he still refers to her as an expensive miracle rescue dog. He has another client that got a dog from her that was in worse shape than mine! You must be a relative of hers.
I think everyone needs to be very careful in passing judgement. From all my sources, (which are pretty reliable) I have been told that these animals were cared for. She had several full time employees who helped care for these dogs. Sometimes starting as early as 4:30am. I find it very interesting that these dogs are found to be in "fair" health according to the media, truth is they are in good health, none starving, all vacinated, excellent record keeping. She had actually come off the hill after distributing toys to the dogs when she got served. Becareful, that this doesn't turn out to be a witch hunt. I love animals, and would be the first to agree that abuse should not be tolerated. These animals were not kept in rabbit cages. They were Amish made dog kennels, with air conditioning, heat, heating pads etc. From what I understand even those from her vets office are talking about how healthy her dogs are. Once again I would be careful before jumping on the lyching ban wagon.
Why didn't the vets who attended these dogs come forward and do something sooner??!!
I purchased a pup from this kennel 2 years ago. I asked a vet and he told us that she ran a great kennel and that he had been to the kennel numerous times to give immunizations, etc, and everything was just fine!(I was also concerned over not being able to see the kennels) I think all the vets who knew this should be arrested and punished as well as the breeder. They could have done something to stop this sooner!!! Now they want to look like heroes!!(I had previously adopted thru Humane Society and had my dog for 7 years and had to put him down, this breed did not come thru the humane society again, so after looking for 6 months I went to this breeder who was recommended by our vet)
This woman should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Her age should not be a factor. I am her age, and would never do anything so disgusting and inhumane. Her daugheer had knowledge of this and should be prosecuted also. She should not be allowed to even own a personal pet.
I want to address the fact that HSOP waited too long to do anything until now. We have tried to bring her down for over 10 years. We just need to change the laws as to how an animal is kept. I found a place on the internet where her income was $17,000 a year. The IRS may want to take a look!
i dont beleve in any harm of the dogs,or even in there heath. To me its all just drama...
Go to the web site: hsus.org and see the article (& video) of this horrible incident. The abuse listed in the article is hard to read but everyone need to so that they can see what MONSTERS are out there passing themselves off as caring, animal loving people. They have made her relinquish her right to ever raise/breed animals. But, I would say they had better keep a close eye on her (hopefully she goes to jail for a long time so they won't need to). I read about a man in WV that they caught on 3 separate occasions breeding/creating puppy mills even after he was no longer allowed to do so.
I agree with all of the other posters. This MONSTER needs to be prosecuted and put in jail. Let's make her live in a "cage" with wire for the floor, leave her in the hot sun with little or no shade, the ammonia smell from urine, etc. (watch the video on HSOP of the US they filmed on this)and see how she likes those conditions!! You read about things like this but never suspect it's going on right in our own backyard. Oh yea I'm sure she was cooperative since the police was there and sure she bawled/squawled and asked for help. You don't just get "1,000 dogs" without realizing it so give us all a break and save your disgusting words for anyone who may care, which I think would be NO ONE. Please for everyone out there, if you can please try and help make any type of donation that you can. I called them today and they are really needing about anything but they mentioned they need lots of Newspapers to line the puppies' crates, towels, food - anything will help the poor puppies.
I hope and pray that this owner will be prosecuted.I hope that there is enough people in the town or any vicinity that will adopt these precious animals. I, myself is waiting for the day that they say we can start the adoption procedure. These dogs need a loving home, someone that will treat them right!!!!!!!
hats off to the hsop for doing there job. i hope that they can find homes for the dogs that they have safed.
