The woman and her family of Whispering Oaks Kennel should be punished! There is no excuse for someone to be that GREEDY!!! Those poor helpless dogs, being caged up, never touching the ground - it just makes me sick! She should have the same treatment done to her, as she has done to the animals. There's a special place for people like that, she will find out one day.

I am trying to sort this out. If I read the newspaper correctly, the dogs were in good health. Then there is the incident where a man running a chain saw on his own property is arrested at gun point for raising the chain saw and revving the motor. This seems more an act of defiance than an assault. Please keep in mind that this happened on his own property! If the animals are in fact in good health and have been taken care of .... seems like a great time for a lawyer. I have read nothing suggesting that any law was violated. The only violation seems to be of this mans rights as a property owner. It appears this elderly woman was bullied to surrender her animals under threat of prosecution. If there was an actual case against her, I'm confident that she would be in jail, and the animals would have been confiscated just the same. I find it curious that so little information has been released about this situation, but so many "compassionate" people are calling for blood.

My three adopted dogs are the joy of my life. Least we remember, why are animals and children nelected--and the bulk of the resources focused on rehabilitation of the adults who perpetrated the mistreatment? If only the innocents could vote--what seems like a aberration to the general population is sadly a typical frequent scenario to a nurse and a social worker. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse with human nature--I joined the Humane Society and realized sadistic behavior and neglect is overlooked on every level of living existence--if there is an opportunity to make a buck or avoid spending money on something that has no tangible value.

I was appalled when I read this. This woman's family as well as any human being who has visited her facility is just as guilty. I think she and her family should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. These are living breathing animals that depend on US to survive, God's creatures, and do not deserve the life they have had in any way. You know, some people go to prison thier whole life for abusing a human. This is NO different. And she can't fall on the excuse she is old, this started 30 years ago. And if they want to use that excuse then the family should be imprisoned. But no, they will get off, because in this ungrateful world we call home, money has become more important than life itself and I am sure someone somewhere will get paid off to sweep this under the rug. In some countries, this woman would have been shot on sight for this. It is just sad and I hope that every one that has ever seen her facility can look themselves in the mirror and sleep at night. Murderers!

people should get the facts before they make comments on this, one of the humane officers said the dogs were not in poor health. these animals were taken care of by more than the owner-lets not forget she had several employees helping take care of these dogs.some people need to get a life

Where can we get the applications for adoption? This is by far the saddest thing I've ever seen. No one should be allowed to be waived for cooperation. Justice should be served and punishment delievered. Thanks to any and all who are helping and who will continue to help.

What took so long for those that are suppose care to do something about this abuse to animals. Shame,Shame on those who know and did nothing. What about the hundreds that have been euthanized that can never know love from a human. Someone need to check all vets records in parkersburg. Hundreds have been killed. This is a sick family that should have to pay for this clean up, not the tax payers. Please do not sweep this under rug. She is not a nice lady, she is right up there with Michael Vick! Jail time should be mandatory!

LISTEN TO THIS:::>>> Ten years ago, authorities received a tip that this puppy mill on Red Hill Road was foul. As they began to mount a surprise inspection, somebody tipped off the owner, and half a day later, when the authorities arrived, the kennel had been hosed down, cleaned up, and improved. All the dogs suddenly had food and water. WHO tipped them off? WHO leaked the info? WHY did they do that, if not to keep the woman from having to shut down. The goal was have her clean it up... which she did. Somebody did not want to prosecute her. And they didnt. Til now!

The Parkersburg Humane Society does a fabulous job of making sure their pets go to good homes and that the cycle of unwanted puppies and kittens is stopped by requiring all animals to be spayed or neutered. I have adopted a few puppies and adult dogs over the years from the HSOP and they have honestly been the BEST dogs ever. I sincerely believe that dogs that have been rescued have a deep appreciation for their new families and hope that all of you reading this will decide to adopt and literally save a life instead of buying your next dog. If everyone adopted from shelters instead of buying purebred dogs, puppy mills would not exist. Mixed breed dogs have less health problems and less temperament problems and make all around great companions. It is really sad that this person was allowed to breed dogs for so many years without anything being done until now but the HSOP is not to blame-they do the best they can with the resources they have. Please support them-they have a tough job.

Just wanted to I think it is horrible that this lady is getting away with this twice!!! There is no reason why any animal should be treated that way. I also want to say I went into Petland today and they have a donation box set up there so the community can help out with this sadness too. They are sending volunteers over there to help out with anything that is needed and can take any supplies that are donated over there everyday. Newspapers, towels, cleaning supplies, dog and puppy food, and anything else to help care for these poor animals. I think it is great that everyone in the community is so willing to help out and I just want to reiterate I think she is getting away with murder. This is the second time. Ridiculous if you ask me.

I to am wondering why this woman was not brought up on charges..Her daughter is just as guilty as she is for knowing and allowing it to go on for so long..If her family were any decent kind of human beings they would done something to save these animals...There is no EXCUSE for how these animals have suffered...She got off way too easy..Besides not having up to date shots I just wonder how much she owes the county for dog tags at 3.00 a head...I know that doesn't seen too important at this point but it is a fact.. It's not fair that she gets by with this....

For Gods sake Sharon has been breeding since 1961. They stormed her property threatened her with jail. they strong armed her into signing over her dogs. a new HSUS head trying to make a name for herself. Sharon's only real problem was that she has too many dogs. why didnt they warn her first. what law was she breaking by having 1000 dogs. Hunt corp has more than that. Sharons rights have been violated. she needs to sue. This is actually an AR fad sweeping america that needs to be stopped. Their goals are to end all types of dog ownership. yes including the house pet dog. they get closer and closer to their goal with this kind of stuff. scarrrrry wake up america lets open our eyes and stop this before it is too late.

I honestly cannot believe that the authorities are going to let this Monster off with absolutely nothing being done to her legally!! As the article states: "Because of her cooperation she entered a diversion agreement, to never own a breeding kennel or business again and if she does, then she can be prosecuted for any violations found on the property," said Conley. This only states that IF she does ever operate one again she "could be" prosecuted for any violations - JENNY WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!! She wasn't prosecuted THIS TIME so why should she worry - she'll do it again I'm sure and again she will no doubt get by with it. This monster should not even be allowed to own ANY animal EVER!! I am so furious right now this person is going to walk which tells every IDIOT out there to go ahead and abuse animals because legally they will do NOTHING to you. Pretty sad day I think. I still say we put that IDIOT in a wire cage and let her live in there with no water in the glaring sun!
