Fire Damages Garage, Blocks Traffic

A building was damaged Wednesday night after a fire ripped through a garage off of Seventh Street and blocked traffic for over an hour.
Firefighters from the Parkersburg Fire Department got a call around 7:30 p.m. that witnesses reported seeing heavy black smoke and flames shooting from a the Bear Salvage Yard at 625 Bryant Street in Parkersburg.
Firefighters had the blaze controlled by 7:40 and continued to put out hot spots for about an hour afterward.
No one was injured. No utilities were hooked up at the garage, and Fire Inspector Tim Flinn says its being ruled suspicious. The incident is still
under investigation.
The Parkersburg Fire and Police Departments and Camden-Clark Ambulance Service responded.
