More than 1,900 Allegheny Power customers were in the dark Wednesday afternoon because of two separate outages.
Officials with Allegheny Power say around 2 Wednesday afternoon the power went out in the cities of Williamstown and Parkersburg leaving about 1,929 customers without electricity.
At this point, power has been completely restored.
Officials say the cause is attributed to two separate outages. In Williamstown about 880 customers were without power because a tree fell on a power line. In Parkersburg, more than 1000 people were left in the dark because of a failed insulator.
Across the river, almost 500 hundred customers in Waterford and Belpre were without power for part of the afternoon.
In Belpre, a truck hit a power pole on Blue Knob Road and knocked out electricity to about 187 customers.
The cause of the Waterford outage is still unknown at this time.
Power has been restored to both Belpre and Waterford customers at this time.
