A local non-profit organization is getting its message out to pregnant women in need.

Thursday morning, members of the Women's Care Center held a presentation at the Wood County Rotary Club.

The center offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasound's, abstinence education and even maternity clothes.

Any woman, any age, living in the Mid-Ohio Valley is eligible.

The Center often helps young, unmarried, expectant mothers but Executive Director Janet Kimes says they won't turn anyone away.

"Any woman is welcome at our center. In fact we had the wife of a doctor who's going to be coming to this area. They have three children and they have no insurance. So she came to Women's Care Center within the last two weeks to get help. So we have no income level that they must meet," says Kimes.

The Women's Care Center has two locations:

2104 Dudley Ave.
Parkersburg
(304) 485-7122

837 Third Street, Suite A
Marietta
(740) 376-7180

Kimes says they're always looking for volunteers and donations!

yes they do offer advive or even help with adopting out unwanted babies. they also give advice on abortion althought they are a church organization , they try to give you all options available weather they believe in or not. i went there and they were very helpful. all i had done was a preg test but they will help provide diapers clothes baby accesseries and anything possible. as from what i remember they arent goverment funded. they have volunteers and things given to them. and you have to do things in ordered to recieve items from them. they have a point system.

Do they provide sexual education, contraceptives or options including adoption and abortion information? Often these "non profits" are conservative operations that are able to receive government money due to the faith based initiative funds and use them to promote their own agenda. If this is the case, then it is very sad that this operates across from a high school. Women deserve to have ALL the options and information about pregnancy, and these centers can not provide that.
