The owners of C&C Dodge-Toyota Thursday presented a check for $10,800...to be divided among the humane societies in Parkersburg and Marietta.
The money was donated as part of a recent promotion by the Marietta-based dealer.
"We're taking money from the ZooToo project, and building a roman cat shelter," said Cheryl Byers, Shelter Manager for the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, shortly after receiving the check from dealer co-owners Sheryl and Jim Cobb. "But we're also trying to save money to build a stronger spay and neuter project in Washington County and hopefully have a stronger spay-neuter project to help lower income people who can't go to the vet to have their animal altered."
The donation comes as the Humane Society of Parkersburg is seeking donations...to help find homes for animals seized during last weekend's raid on the Whispering Oaks Kennel.
C&C recently was honored by Toyota for its support of local humane societies, in a recent Toyota ad which appeared in "Time" magazine.
