The Washington Animal Rescue League has accepted 101 of the rescued dogs handed over to the Humane Society of Parkersburg by the owner of Whispering Oaks Kennel this past weekend.
It is the largest group of animals the shelter has helped.
Veterinarians spent thursday cleaning up the dogs and performing medical checkups.
Veterinarian Nicole Eckholm says the dogs are in need of teeth cleaning and vaccinations, and must be socialized.
Just as our shelter in Parkersburg has expressed, Washington Shelter worker Jim Monsma says people who adopt the dogs will need a lot of patience.
