The Mid Ohio Valley Regional Highway Safety Program is now $385,000 closer to meeting some of their safety goals.

That grant money will kick in on October 1 and will mainly go towards staffing DUI enforcement, like sobriety checkpoints and underage drinking compliance checks.

Program administrator, Tony Tiano, says the money they received last year has already been used to purchase helpful equipment like 100 lap top computers for local law enforcement agencies.

"Once we know that we officially have it, we'll notify local law enforcement agencies to see which ones are interested and approximately how much time they can spend on the overtime enforcement," says Tony Tiano, Program Administrator for the MOV Regional Highway Safety Program.

Tiano says this is the largest grant the program has gotten.
