The officers of Parkersburg PD have been very lucky over the years as violence and drug use in the city have increased. Incidents happen every day in which officers are forced into altercations with violent subjects. These are not reported to the press as the city wants to maintain its wonderful place to live image. Stop pretending things are not getting worse and provide Parkersburg's officers with the equipment they need to be a 1st rate dept. not one that just gets by. Pay them what they deserve for protecting the citizens of Parkersburg.I was a Parkersburg Police Officer for 11 years and recently left to another lawenforcement job that paid me $1.00 an hour more to start. I loved working in Parkerburg and think most members of the dept. are honorable men. Dont look at this incident with blinders on I truely believe worse things are to come if things are not changed soon. For those who respond that they have a different opinion of Parkersburg's officers remember they are human too.

For anyone who has any doubt. That Sarge did the right thing! It's what his training dictated.

We don't pay our police officers enough. Not only do they risk their lives daily, but when someone decides to "lose it" the police officer has to make an instant decision that will haunt him/her the rest of their lives.

why is the officer on leave? in other countrys the poliece would have killed him and that would have been that. but in this country there is no punishment too fit the crime so we just go on killing rapeing and robbing and some bleeding hart lawyer gets us out of it and some poor basterd dooing his job gets punished
