It is not the dog warden's responsibility to find a home for your unwanted puppies. It is YOUR responsibility. The dog warden's job is to pick up strays and reunite them with their owner. OH law only gives the owner 36 hrs to reclaim their pets. After that they are destroyed or adopted out. Owner surrenders, by law, can be euthanized immediately. Surrendering unwanted animals to the dog warden is lazy and irresponsible. If you're that lazy, just take the puppies to a vet and have them humanely euthanized. That's what will happen if you surrender them anyway. Does that sound harsh? That's because it's reality. The reality nobody wants to hear about. Dog pounds are not idealistic places where everybody lives happily ever after. The law does not state the dog warden MUST take your unwanted pets. It's not a dump site. Have your pets spayed or neutered. Their offer to post photos for adoption was generous. Take them up on it.
