Trial Begins in Berecz Case

The trial for a Washington County man accused of holding officers at an all night standoff and shooting an officer began Wednesday morning.
Jason Berecz faces 17 indictments for the April incident. Three of those are for attempted murder and five are for felonious assault.
The defense and prosecution both presented their opening arguments Wednesday morning.
Sergeant Scott Parks was the first witness to take the stand in the courtroom. He is the officer Berecz is accused of shooting.
