Gas prices fell in some areas of the Mid-Ohio Valley over the weekend and so did Ohio and West Virginia's monthly averages.

These two couples have seen the gas prices drop from state to state since they left southern Illinois Saturday.

"Oh, a lot higher in Illinois," said Leota Baum an Illinois resident traveling through West Virginia.

Adam Kimble filled up his SUV before he left Cleveland to go back to Cross Lanes, West Virginia Sunday.

"Oh it was just amazing. The difference between a couple hundred miles north, $3.05 to whatever it is here."

At a station in Parkersburg the price dropped over the weekend about $0.17 from Friday.

According AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report Web site West Virginia's average Sunday was $3.62 and in Ohio it's $3.38.

The Web site reports West Virginia's monthly average is down $0.12 and Ohio's monthly average is down $0.18.

But the difference in prices isn't just across state lines.

"Even from one station to the next," said Baum.

"I think the scare's already gone over with the gas being so high, we're noticing in fact more and more campers and motor homes," said Donna Briggs, a supervisor at the West Virginia Welcome Center.

Briggs said since the southeast has been experiencing gas shortages the most asked question this weekend was "Is there gasoline in West Virginia?

"They feared that when they come in to us that we're perhaps experienceing the same problem but we're not," said Briggs.

But no matter where these two couples go, Donna Thompson said " We always get it when it's higher and then go down the road and then it's cheaper. We've noticed that."

I just have to comment on the gas differences between Northern Ohio (Sandusky) and here at home. We filled up for 3.12/gallon up there!! Now if that isn't a bargain!
