Berecz Found Guilty in April Standoff, Deputy Shooting Save Email Print

A verdict has been reached in the trial of a Washington County man accused of shooting an officer and holding police on an all-night standoff in April 2008.

Jason Berecz was found guilty on 13 of 16 counts including all charges related to shooting of Deputy Parks. The verdict came down at 11:36 am Tuesday.

The jury began deliberations around noon on Monday.

Berecz is set to be sentenced November 18th.

GOOD!!! But should have been found guilty of all charges, but 13 of 16 is a good start! I am just happy that all the people he shot at that night are alive to tell about it!
