Two women are suspected of shoplifting at Kohl's department store in Parkersburg, Thursday, and then driving off.

Around Noon, two women in their early to mid-twenties stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the department store.

The store's loss prevention officer went outside to stop the women, but they drove off.

Their car then hit the officer, injuring her leg. She was admitted to the hospital but has been released.

The car is a dark green Firebird or Transam, it has Ohio plates.

There is also a large "Fox Motorsports" emblem on the back windshield of the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Department has identified people of interest but has not made any arrests yet.

wow this is ridiculous those dumb girls could have possibly killed the officer, and NO the officer shouldnt have moved. she wouldnt have been trying to get the girls if they would not have stolen anything from the store the officer was trying to protect. the dumb girls should have just confessed instead of it escalating to this level. i got caught stealing at kohls and right away i confessed to the officer, i didnt try to get away and run the officer over.

NO Ethan you shut your mouth! Unless you were there or for anyone who is saying anything on behalf of those two girls, they are BOTH guilty. If Bobbie has a bad rap then DJ being 18yrs of age should know that the bad rap friend will lead you down the wrong road. Bobbie didnt make her start the car and put it in drive. SHE is the one who made the choice. She should have stopped. As for the LP doing her job, she did her job! The LP should have used self defense and busted her right in the face for grabbing her and DJ as well for dragging her. An individual makes a choice to do the right thing or not on their OWN... Yada Yada Yada as the so called Christians state their words. DENY DENY DENY.... They will never learn their lesson if parents continue to bail their children out. Both deserve what they get and the PA should make sure of it!

yeah i guess the lp should have just let those 2 menaces get away she should not have done her job i guess she deserved what she got no i dont think so and it is a public outrage bobbie has alwase been a problem but this is enough people who actually work to provide for there children and dont let the state take care of there children getting assaulted like this no i dont think its that people live in glass houses i think its that most people dont shoplift they work for what they want and i seriousely doubt that the majority of people would react by hitting someone with there car and dragging them i hope these 2 get the harshes sentence allowed by law and i think citizens need to stand up and see that it happens justice needs to be served i hope i never hear of these 2 again they arent worth wasting time on the news.

TO SAY THE LEAST HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF A JOB THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME BOBBIE HAS STOLE SOMETHING I HAVE KNOWN HER FOR A LONG TIME AND I PERSONSONALLY THINK SHE IS A MENICE SHE NEEDS LOCKED UP AND THE KEYS DESTROYED AND AS FOR HER MOTHER SHE CAN BE PUT IN A CELL RIGHT BESIDE HER BECOUSE SHE CAN NOT SAY FOR HER DAUGHTER TO STEAL AND RUN SOMEONE OVER THAT THATS JUST FINE I MUST SAY HER MOTHER AND HER NEED PRAYER BECOUSE FROM HER MOTHERS COMMENTS YOU CAN SEE WHERE BOBBIE GETS THIS FROM AND I KNOW HER MOTHER ALSO AND SHE IS FAR FROM CHRISTIAN.

You cant blame someone for actions of others. Start the car, Not start the car? Hmmm Excuses excuses excuses and yet the parents or parent will try to bail their children out of anything instead of letting them learn their lesson.

Posted by: chasady on Oct 15, 2008 at 12:05 AM
I don't think you can blame Bobbie for DJ;s actions so try something else. Your daughter was driving she is the one who hit the lady I mean come on... I've heard of peer pressure but this is a lil too far to say that's whats going on... She is old enough to know better and it is her fault that she was even put in this situation.. So leave Bobbie out of what your daughter has done!!!!!!!!!

WHERE WAS THE PARKERSBURG POLICE WHEN ALL THIS HAPPENED ! WHY WASNT THEY CALLED! I KNOW DESIREE HICKEL VERY WELL HER PARTENTS RAISED HER BETTER BUT THE OHTER GIRL HAS A BAD WRAP AND I THINK SHE HAS ALOT OVER POWERING HER TO DO THESE THINGS. DESIREE IS A VERY SWEET GIRL

FOR ALL THE PEOPLE LEAVING THESE MSGS I GUESS YOU LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE WITH NO CRACKS OR DINGS FROM WHEN YOU DONE SOMETHING WRONG. AS FOR THE LP OFFICER OF SHE HAD ANY BRAINS SHE WOULD HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM THE CAR AS IT WAS MOVING! DUH!!! I DO NOT APPROVE OF WHAT THESE GIRLS DONE BUT I DO KNOW FOR A FACT THAT DESIREE HAS NOT MADE A HOBBY OF THIS, BUT BOBBIE HAS AND SHE IS PULLING MY DAUGHTER WITH HER. MY KID IS NOT STUPID SHE JUST DONE A STUPID THING. I RAISED MY DAUGHTER WITH VERY STRICK RULES AND I WILL SAY THAT ALL KIDS TRY SOMETHING SOMETIME. BEFORE YOU SPEAK OUT AGAIN I WANT YOU TO LOOK AROUND AND SEE IF ANY FAMILY MEMBERS ARE AROUND SO YOU CAN SEE THE PAIN IN THIER FACES AS YOU DOG THIER CHILDREN. MAY GOD BLESS ALL THE PPL RUNNING THERE TRAPS AND PLAYING COP AND JUDGE.

I think you people don't know what your talking about... Have you ever thought about the situation or past these girls have been threw? If they were on drugs why sit there and say "they must be on drugs??!" You should be thinking about the way drugs are effecting our community and want to help people instead of focusing on the problem not what you can do about it!!!

Posted by: ethan Location: ohio on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:15 PM
I know the whole family and I know it wasn't Desiree Hinkle's parents fault. I have known thm my entire life. Her parents as well as her friends are trying to make her turn herself in. She is like my sister and it would make everyones life more managable all the way around if she would.

I agree with you to a point. I was just trying to cut blame being put on the economy. These girls seem to have been doing this for sometime. I'm sure that the LP community have been aware of these individuals along with the police for some time. If you look at the raw video you can see how much fuller their purse are from stuffing it. From the looks of them I'm sure that they are mixed up with drugs they look horrible and strung out maybe on pills, cocaine, or meth.

Posted by: Kay Location: Russell on Oct 10, 2008 at 05:02 PM
I do agree with LP

I just want to comment on what LP said about the parents. I happen to be very good friends with the mom and I know she did not raise her like that. It seems when you get older you loose all that was taught to you when you turn stupid. Trust me her mother wants her to turn herself in and pay the price, she is very hurt over this. I hope the officer is doing well and will be better soon.

This was dumb on so many levels. surveilence cameras, green Trans Am or Firebird-lg Fox Moto. logo on glass w/ Ohio tags, hit an officer, on the local news, yeah we won't get caught! GET A JOB! Work for what you want, you don't steal!...I've known that since I was like 4 or 5...hope your petty merchandise was worth it.....as far as economy goes...I need and want things and can't afford them but I sure the heck am not going to steal...come on it was clothing anyways, shoes, not food or medication to survive..nothing necessary to sustain life......it was simply stupidity, selfishness and self entitlement, which so many youth seem to feel they are owed....people need to stop sugar coating wrong, when that's all it is...WRONG...now punish them!

Posted by: LP on Oct 10, 2008 at 11:23 AM
This has nothing to do with the economy wvmom. This is about 2 stupid little girls doing something stupid and inmature. Maybe the parents should have taught them better murals. People need to learn if you steal something from a stop then get caught by a plain cloths officer do not run you will make it worse. They're lucky that the officer wasn't carrying a concealed weapon, in that case one might use it to save their own life in a case like this. Shoplifting laws need to be more harsh. I hope the officer goes after them civily along with criminaly and take them for every penny they have. I think the vehicle should be impounded as evidence also. Fox racing sticker on a firebird with OH plates that should explain a lot.

Posted by: Mel on Oct 10, 2008 at 11:07 AM
I hope those two girls get caught. They can't hide the car forever. A green firebird with a fox decal on the window has to stick out like a soar thumb. Stupid Girls!!

Posted by: JP Location: Pburg on Oct 10, 2008 at 10:54 AM
It appears they have done this before - they seem to relaxed.

Posted by: KAREN Location: BELPRE on Oct 10, 2008 at 09:02 AM
THE OLD SAYING IS YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CANT HIDE.YOU WILL GET CAUGHT ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.I HOPE THE OFFICER IS GOING TO BE OK.

Posted by: LP Officer Location: Pkb WV on Oct 9, 2008 at 08:22 PM
To clarify the exact emblem on the car. Its an older model transam/firebird, Hunter green, Pink and White decal on the back glass (Bird wings with a pink fox head in the center) covering it from side to side. Ohio plates EM?-16?? not sure of the county but I saw the car Tuesday evening coming from Little Hocking and taking the Belpre exit. Possibly from Athens or in the vacinity of 50 South.

Posted by: Tammy Location: Atlanta on Oct 9, 2008 at 07:16 PM
Thank god she is ok, I hope to god they find those bad girls. They need to pay for what they did to her and I hope they pay for a long time.

Posted by: wvmom on Oct 9, 2008 at 05:01 PM
A sign on the times to come because of our crashing economy? I sure hope not. I'm glad the officer is going to be ok!
