We lost millions of Jobs due to dumping of overseas steel and alloys. Killed our automotive and steel industries. Let our Oil Companies sell overseas for more profit while depleting U.S. Supplies. Free Trade. Clinton. The turmoil that we are living in reflects the most massive dislocation of jobs in U.S. history when millions lost their jobs while President Clinton proclaimed prosperity. The unemployment rates did not reflect the situation and a working poor class was set in place. Thank Bill Clinton. Blame Republicans how? Maybe George was too dumb to fix it, but Bill caused it.

You look at the people that vote for McCain, old cars, no money, and you ask yourself, why? Republicans have done nothing for low or middle income families. At least the democrats (Obama) have a plan to help out the middle and low class. The rich have loopholes we don't have. A vote for Obama is at least a future for us and our children.

Jack, No problem, Whether you see him in person or take a piece of plastic and look through it, you should be able to see the same thing. (NOTHING)

Posted by: Jack Location: Marietta on Oct 14, 2008 at 08:26 AM
As usual they dont care if the elderly or handicapped people get to see him or not. You are going to have to get there hours earlier which I was willing to do. But since you are going to have to walk along ways. Since you arent allowed to bring lawns chairs. How do they expect an elderly or handicapped person to be able to stand in line for hours They could had had this at the college or high school, where the elderly and handicapped person could had attended

To equate Obama as a terrorist due to ties with Ayres is like saying McCain had ties to the vietcong because he was in the hanoi hilton for such a while, or to equate Palin with having foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from her house. How stupid is all of this mudslinging. Look at the real issues people. Then vote. McCain is more of the same, Palin is a fool who thinks every stop is a talent show, Obama may not have been my first choice but since Hillary is backing him he is the best chance for the country and for the world. 8 years of republicans put us into a recession another four would be a depression.

Ag...although I agree that I will not be voting for McCain, I have to acknowledge the fact that you will not vote for someone because of their middle name. I feel like slapping people when they say that they will not vote for Obama because the word "bomb" is in his name, or that his ears are too big. This, to me, is pure ignorance! Now, I know that you probably have other reasons for voting for Obama, probably because he is going to be a great president, and get us out of this mess of an economy, but I think that if someone is voting, they should have a good reason for it, and know what is going on with our country, and who has the better plan to save it.

The last time I checked Biden didn't want the posstion as V.P. even if asked he still said NO.!!! Talk about a flip flop. What I would like to know from Obama is where is he going to get the money to do anything? I know!!!! the $700 Billion went to bail out his buddies so they could go on that fancy trip with the tax payers dollors. His buddies need to go to jail........Bunch of crooks

Posted by: ag on Oct 13, 2008 at 12:44 PM
I refuse to vote for anyone with the middle name Sidney!

Posted by: Amy Location: Parkersburg on Oct 13, 2008 at 12:04 PM
Although I would have preferred Hillary, I feel Biden will be a wonderful vice president. I'm hopeful that the country can regain civility under Obama/Biden leadership. Our country needs to put the pieces back together and repair the damage done by the conservative agenda.

Posted by: Cat Location: Marietta on Oct 13, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Well Bobcatfan, I would rather have a smart liar with a plan to be my president, than a close-minded liar with a stupid vice president!

I am glad that we have real change on the horizon for our country. It's unfortunate that some people, just reading these comments have racial motivations to try to divide people. We are in the midst of our worst financial crisis in decades, people losing their jobs and thier homes, we're fighting a war in Iraq longer than WWII, we have 47 Million with no healthcare and more without good coverage. In all of this, people want to call people 'pigs' and provide no solutions to the probems we face? We need real leadership, someone who can unite the country behind the goals we value as a nation. To fix our economy with middle class tax cuts, to end this occupation in Iraq and bring our brave soldiers home, to privide affordable healthcare, and to restore America's image around the world. That is what Barack Obama and Joe Biden will do for us in Ohio!

First and foremost, I am not really happy with the Mccain/Palin ticket and am really not happy with the Hussein/Biden ticket. This country needs to take a long hard look at the Constitution Party and Chuck Baldwin. They uphold the Constitution, and what this country was founded on. Repubs and LIbtards alike need to smarten up and do what is right for the future of our country!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for this I will be there. West Virginia needs someone who knows our culture and will know what we need. Biden is from Scranton, PA and it is a lot like Parkersburg in many ways.

Posted by: Derek Location: Marietta on Oct 12, 2008 at 11:44 PM
I'm glad we're actually getting visits down here. It's neat to get some attention in the area with all the candidates who have been around here lately.

Posted by: bobcatfan Location: Vincent on Oct 12, 2008 at 07:02 PM
Why doesn't Biden just follow Palin around to every city? He and Obama haven't said anything or done anything original yet, why start now? I see Cat buys in to all the political garbage. Glad you can't think for yourself. You should know by now that all politicians are liars, no matter what side of the aisle they sit on. Wise up.

I am a 61 yr old combat veteran of Vietnam. From the start, I was againstthe war in Iraq and hope Obama becomes president to stop it. I've said from the start that our country could not be beaten militarily but we'd be defeated by financial arterial bleeding and it is happening now. Do you not understand we have educated our enemies in world economics that they are now using against us? Look into the eyes of these politicians as if you are trying to see into their hearts as they speak. There is deception in the eyes of all except Obama. Partly because of the guilt this nation has over its treatment of vietnam veterans in the past and because of propaganda from the republican industrial/military complex today false patriatism is rampant. What has happened to practicing the Christian beliefs we espouse? Why do we pick out one country's leadership after another to hate? As the Roman Empire we are on a similar road to destruction. Just read your bible.

Am I happy no.. But I would take McCain over a socialist tax hiking pig anyday. It is not the federal governments to take care of you from womb to tomb.

Posted by: Cat Location: Marietta on Oct 12, 2008 at 12:54 PM
Nobama, are you kidding me? Can you honestly tell me that you are happy with the way our country has been run the past eight years? Cause if you can, then go ahead and vote for McCain, because we are going to get the same exact thing. If you havent noticed, out economy is going down the gutter. And why do you think that is? Obama is for change, and for turning out country around. We need a president who has an opinion and a plan, not one who just puts commercials up about how his opponent is bad. As far as I know, John McCain has no opinion about anything, because he spends all of his time and effort into bashing Obama. Obama is for the middle class. Bush and McCain want to LOWER taxes for the wealthy! They have money, and they are going to have to pay less taxes than a parent who works two jobs to support his or her family? Something does not add up! I'm voting for Obama because I'm ready for change, and he is going to bring it!

Posted by: NOBAMA Location: Belpre on Oct 11, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Does anyone care what the socialist pig has to say? Google William Ayers see the real ties of Obama to a known U.S Terrorist

Posted by: Jayson Location: Parkersburg on Oct 11, 2008 at 08:12 PM
Can't wait to go to this I bet it will be packed. I am a republican and this is my first time voting for a democrat but we need it now, I like republican values but McCain just isn't what we need right now and Obama is actually has more republican views than McCain.

Thank goodness. A voice of intelligence and reason here in the Mid-Ohio valley. After Palin is done making us stupid, Biden will make coherent sentences and say meaningful things.
