Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin's motorcade followed Ohio Route 7 to Ohio Route 60 and then went back through downtown Marietta Sunday afternoon to get onto I-77.
Gov. Palin spent about 15 minutes meeting local residents at L.E. Huck & Sons Farm Market off Ohio Route 60.
As of 4:40 pm, Palin's motorcade was back on I-77, heading out of Washington County en route to St. Clairsville, Ohio, for her scheduled rally this evening.
The Palin motorcade drove past the first northbound rest stop from Marietta on I-77, where a number of supporters had gathered. It's not clear whether the rest stop also had been a scheduled stop for the motorcade.
Earlier Sunday afternoon, at least 100 people had gathered at Sweetapple Farm, about ten minutes off of Ohio Route 7 / U.S. Route 50 in Vincent, after word circulated that Palin's motorcade would stop there. That did not happen, either. Again, it's not clear whether Sweetapple farm had been a scheduled stop or not.
WTAP-TV will have the latest on this somewhat unpredictable motorcade through the Mid-Ohio Valley coming up tonight on WTAP News at Eleven and here on WTAP.com.
We will have a complete report on Palin's stops on WTAP News at Eleven and here on WTAP.com.
