Friday the Ohio Department of Transportation is making sure they're ready to deal with winter.
We've certainly seen ice and snow in the Mid-Ohio Valley already and ODOT is reminding motorists that means take it slow.
The department had all plows, trucks, and spreaders out Friday to make sure they're ready for the winter ahead. But officials say they can only do so much.
Jim Kemp, ODOT Transportation Manager: "In the battle with mother nature, mother nature will always win. And so what we try to do is hold that at bay whenever possible. If it's snowing a half an inch or an inch of snow an hour obviously it's hard to stay ahead of the storm. And that's where it's highly beneficial that the traveling public if could they could just slow down and take their time it would benefit us."
