A Parkersburg Dodge dealership has apparently closed.

Mullen Motors Dodge closed Thursday and negotiations are underway for another dealership in the area to take it over.

Sources close to the negotiation say the deal is in the works and is expected to be finalized over the next ten days.

As of Friday, there were only two new vehicles at the dealership.

There is no inventory listed on the company's Web site.

The manager could not be reached.

Dan: You're right by saying "Go buy your imports and look what you have wrought". The unrecognized portion of the problem is which "imports" are doing the most harm. I see it as all the imported goods we mindlessly buy at Wal-Mart. Those are products that used to be made by American hands. That put dollars into those hands to buy trucks at Mullens. Now, those products are putting money into the hands of the Chinese.

Now that Mullens is closed and weve had a few days to see the effect it's had on our town. Please stop and look at what else we all have to loose.Stop worring about them now that are closed lets all see what we can do to save all the other businesses we has here.

I am a salesperson from Mullen Motors and assure you we will be a fully up and running Dodge Dealership through Astorgs Company at the corner of 13th and 7th Street within 10 days. We as salepeople were unaware of the situation till just recently all of our inventory is safely put away until the contract is signed any customers that came into Mullen Motors recently were informed of the change and we as the salepeople truely apologize for the inconvenience. Huey Long and myself Melissa Morris will be your Dodge Salespeople and will have all your new Dodge products available for you so come see us or give us a call at Astorgs for more information!

crystal needs to tell the truth,there was no cars in the bodyshop when it closed,all customers cars was completed before the closing!and if people can't figure it out,our economy is what caused mullen motors problems,it was high fuel prices and banks not lending money to good people with not so perfect credit and how many people have perfect credit now days? people need to realize the worst is yet to come and there is going to be more go out of buisness! is it better to take a loss now or to go bankrupt later and lose everything? you be the judge.

I have a recall on my truck,I hope CC Dodge in Marietta can help me. I was waiting for my husband's day off from work. So he could deal with guys in the garage. they were very condescending to me. The very least they could have done, was to contact us. Shame on you!!!

it is no wonder that the bussiness closed because this state sucks jobs sucks and you cant make any money here because all the jobs around here want to pay is minmmum wage and thats why the bussiness had to close because who in this state could afford to buy a new car and also any body would be crazy to open a bussiness here go south and thats good advice see

I just heard that a dealership in New Martinsville also has closed due to the credit crisis and banks not lending money to consumers. Maybe this is the same that happened to Mullen although it does sound strange that the body shop did not contact their customers about their vehicles they were repairing.

It is a shame, 85 years of service to the community. Merle Alleman and Jimmy Logan , some really great employees, so glad they did not have to witness this. I do not think Mullen Motors failed because of poor management of the Dealership, rather the fault of shortsighted planning by Chrysler Corporation. Heavy on Hemi engines , and NO forsight to develop energy efficient cars. The Company shoved BIG trucks onto dealers , and when fuel hit 3.00 a gallon , the death Knell was rung, not only for Mullens , but a lot of Dodge dealers across America. All those faithful employees , from the people that washed the inventory ,to the sales force that spent 60 hours and more a week , to the Service Managers that catch hell from all corners , to the technicians ,who constantly are challenged by new technology, the body shop and parts folks . What a shame.. Go buy your Imports America, And look what you have wrought

I closed my business a couple months ago and understand not wanting to tell people that I was closing. However I closed without telling my customers and it was the right thing for me. I made sure that all orders where done and didn't take on any new orders. I had an appointment with Mullen Moters next week that I've been waiting for since everytime I make an appointment it seems to take a week if not to just to get in. Now I guess I'm off to C&C for an appointment

I was getting my car repaired from a recent accident in the body shop and waiting on it to be completed, I called the shop to ask about it and was told it was closed. I was not notifed by any one about this. I called my insurance ajuster about the situation and he was also surprised, he managed to get a "Kevin" on the phone at the dealership to see what was going on, this person was rude and unprofessional about the way he handled the concern of my car getting finished. I did not appreciate the way I was being treated and how I was not contacted about the shop closing.

their used inventory has been on astorg's old 7st lot(by their bodyshop)for better than a week.
