Several people called 911 to report a house fire in Parkersburg this morning. The fire was being used as a training for volunteer firefighters.
No one is living in the home.
It was donated to the Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Department to use for training.
"Every two or three years we'll find somebody who will give us a house to burn down but usually every year in fire school they'll have a house to burn for a little bit of training. Guys don't get much action to see this and gives them better hands on when they actually do get on a real house fire," said Chris Sams, chief of the Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters started burning rooms of the house for training Tuesday and Thursday nights.
About twenty firefighters from Blennerhassett, Washington Bottom, and Lubeck Volunteer Fire Departments were trained.
