250 people came to Henderson Hall Sunday...for a special Christmas-time viewing of the historic mansion.
Dave McKain...of the Oil and Gas Museum...showed the Wood County Commission Monday the progress made in making major renovations to the home located between Vienna and Williamstown on West Virginia Route 14.
That redecorating is intended to return the historic home to what it looked like in the late 19th and early 20th century.
"People really appreciated what we've done," McKain said. "They could see the house was dramatically altered. It looks like a lived-in house from that period of time, and that's what we've trying to achieve."
The Oil and Gas Museum has been in a lengthy process of buying the mansion from the Henderson family...since the death last year of Michael Ralston, the man who oversaw its operation over the past 20 years.
Sunday's open house was the first of its kind in two years.
