Authorities said this New Year's Eve has been a pretty calm holiday with little to no driving under the influence arrests.

The Parkersburg and Marietta Police Departments reported there were no DUI arrests New Year's Eve.

West Virginia State Police, Ohio Highway Patrol, and the sheriff's offices in Wood and Washington Counties reported between one and two DUI arrests each.

Most of the departments had more officers patrolling the streets.

Officials said the numbers are lower compared to years past.

Meanwhile a highway patrol officer said they have seen a trend where people seem to be getting the message to not drink and drive at least one night of the year.
