A Washington County man is in police custody in western Ohio for allegedly trying to meet up with a 15 year old girl he contacted on-line.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says Steve McFarland has been chatting on-line with an officer posing as a 15 year old girl.

Officials say when McFarland traveled to St. Mary's, Ohio to meet the girl, authorities arrested him.

Officials say McFarland consented to authorities searching his home.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says they are sending McFarland's computer to St. Mary's.

McFarland is being held in Auglaize County.
