It looks like the Central Boaz Public Service District of Wood County will ring in the new year with a major loan to make improvements to it's water system.
Rural development has given the district a loan of $1,400,000.
The funds will be used for various improvements like the construction of almost 3 miles of waterline, a new water storage tank, new fire hydrants, and a meter reading system.
The upgrades will help 607 water customers with fire protection.
