Thursday night Parkersburg officials and community members will meet to discuss the future of the Parkersburg Skate Board Park.

All skaters and supporters of the park are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The proposed park would be 18,000 to 20,000 square feet and the committee is looking for input on design and fund raising ideas.

If you'd like to show your support or have some great ideas of your own, the meeting is Thursday night at 6:00, in the municipal building in the city council chambers, on the second floor.

hi would just like to say I've lived in pburg all my life and when I was growing up skateing was my life, but do to my own mistakes and getting run off from local areas I don't as much any more. so with the word of a 20,000 square foot park being made in my hometown I am surprised, and happy.I think it's the greatest thing anyone could do for the locals who love skateboarding.for help and ideas go to tony hawk.com he has helped several states with parks around the country and even through out the world.

On the new skatepark, I have visited a Very nice skate and bike park in Louisville Kentucky. I go there several times a yr to visit family and we always go down there to see the kids. It is a very nice and clean park, They have had several events there. ESPN has even been there bringing in top skateboarding stars. That would be something to look into. There is a website not sure the name of it but you can look through Louisville kentucky on the web. I think this could be a nice place for families to take their kids and even grandkids to spend time together. As long as it is kept clean and well lighted for evening Thank you!
