My father works for Eramet, there company still is makingloads of money and so is his department. How can a company lay of 110 people? How can the business run properly by cutting that many people, it wont! I realize this is a nationwide slump, but give the people youre laying off more than a measely 10,000 dollar settlement.

My question to the tree huggers. Do you smoke,do you drive a car,do you live in a home built before 1955,do you burn wood.If you do any of these things you should stop, because smoking, driving, burning wood, and living in a home built before 1955,all produce cancer causing agents. So you ought to move in a tent.

The "air" people were actually working to get Eramet to commit more to the infrustructure of the plant and create additional jobs in the process. This is a nationwide slowdown. Eramet made billions last year, and could afford to put a little bit of that into making sure we weren't forced to breathe heavy metals in the entire valley. In fact just this summer Eramet took out an ad in the paper touting that they were dedicating 170 million in the plant for upgrades. I hope they keep that promise and put some local contractors to work in the process while the plant idles down a bit until things pick up. As a community, we need to pull together for all our benefit. Its going to be a tough couple of years.
