The last phase of the Corridor D Project should be completed by the end of the month.

The bridge connecting River Hill Road right before the Blennerhassett Bridge is the last part of construction.

The bridge was originally set to be completed in May of this year, but crews are well ahead of schedule.

"They wanted it completed by December but we had some inclement weather and few things that hvae come up that have delayed the construction phase a bit on their schedule. But they're going to be done several months ahead as far as our completion date," said Jared Evans, Project Engineer, WV Div. of Highways.

Contractors say they need two weeks of good weather to complete the work, but they expect to be finished by the end of January.

This thing should have been done before the highway ever opened up. Makes a lot of sense to open a highway, just to slow everybody down so that they can do construction on it. Here's your sign WVDOH.
