Filing your taxes is right around the corner and if you can't afford it the Community Resources in Parkersburg is lend out some free assistance.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is a program in which low to moderate income individuals have their taxes prepared for free.
The tax preparers are all certified through the IRS.
The Community Resources is always looking for volunteers to help prepare taxes.
Lynn Garber The Community Services Manager explains the importance of filing taxes, " It's very important because what happens is it results in a savings not only to the individual in terms of a larger refund but that is also money that gets filtered back into the community."
January 16th online filing begin and January 12th the Community Resources is taking appointments.
