House Speaker Bob Kiss accepted on behalf of all state lawmakers a Fenton Glass Lamp.
The gift presented by the Academy of Medicine of Parkersburg is to say thanks for the work on the Medical Malpractice Legislation.
Speaker Kiss says the judicial process should not undermine what they were trying to do with the bill.
"Now that a policy decision has been made by the legislature, we need to allow the time and the operation of that law to see whether the legislature was right. If we are wrong, hold us accountable at the ballot box", says Kiss.
He continues to toy with the idea of running for the West Virginia Supreme Court. He'll make a decision in September.
