In Light of Layoffs, Prayer Services Scheduled
WTAP News Some Ravenswood churches are planning prayer services this weekend and into next week as the community is grappling with the announcement the area will be losing more than 600 jobs from the Ravenswood Century Aluminum plant shutting down later this month.

Some Ravenswood churches are planning prayer services this weekend and into next week after the community is grappling with the announcement the area will be losing more than 600 jobs from the Ravenswood Century Aluminum plant shutting down later this month.
Pastor Jon Villers, of the Jackson County Ministerial Association said the service will take place this Sunday, Feb. 15 at Praise Cathedral located at 500 Elwood Street.
He said everyone is invited to attend and it is being sponsored by several churches in the area.
The service begins Sunday at 4 p.m.
Another prayer service is scheduled for next Tuesday Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at Flood of Faith Ministries in Sandyville. The church is located at the intersection of Independence Road and Route 21.
