Once again..if you are having trouble receiving WTAP's free, over-the-air digital signal CONTACT ME! gm@wtap.com or (304) 485-4588 x105. We've been able to help lots of folks...perhaps not all...but many of them! Don't just gripe. Let us try to help! Patsy, if you will look elsewhere on this website, you'll find out why WTAP is not available on satellite. WE'D LOVE TO BE ON SATELLITE. Robert, we have people who are 50 miles from WTAP and more who are getting us free over-the-air digitally, so whoever told you that 25-mile information is wrong. Thanks, Roger Sheppard, VP-GM, WTAP-TV

I still can't receive "the new WTAP" after getting the converter box and recommended indoor antenna. Is the "old WTAP" going to trouble shoot those problems?

As a rural resident I don't have the option to just go on cable TV . I have a sattlite service which I get local channels out of Clarksburg. I live closer and work in Parkersburg. I was veiwing WTAP from a rooftop antenna , I bought the digital converor box , but it didn't work. Now I am without WTAP. I was told by my satellite service that WTAP was not available to my through them as one of my local channels. Why is WTAP not available through satellite serves?

Tsk, tsk Lisa. Shame on you. Just because we live in Ohio, where in the world do you think we would put a TV station? Between here and Fly? I am a cable subscriber and have always had WTAP and am thankful for it. I still have cable today and am able to get WTAP, but could not get my usual CBS station. I left a comment on that stations web-site, and as of now my service on that channel has been restored. Not sure what happened - either with them or with Windjammer - but I'm grateful that it's back on the air. Thank you Jay for your comment - WTAP does not exclusively belong to Parkersburg!!!

Who lives in that area anyways? Do they even have televisions? If so, tough.

Lisa, your comment makes no sense. WTAP, in its newscast opening, says "Parkersburg, MARIETTA, and the entire Mid-Ohio Valley." That means both side of the river.

Oh well! We West Virginians have to share our news station with Ohio. Its time they get their own.
