Police Officer Shoots Suspect in Meigs Co.
WTAP-TV Officials are investigating after an early morning chase and shooting in Meigs County Wednesday.

Officials are investigating after an early morning chase and shooting in Meigs County Wednesday.
The incident happened around one o'clock this morning near Pomeroy at Route 7 and Union Avenue.
Meigs County Sheriff Robert Beegle says, Steve Koebel, a Middleport police officer was chasing a vehicle when the man driving crashed his car. Sheriff Beegle says the man got out of the car and Koebel thought he was reaching for a weapon so he shot him.
The man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. His injuries are unknown at this time.
Sheriff Beegle says they don't know what started the high speed chase.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is following up on the incident.
