Jackson County students will be learning in new buildings, if a school bond issue passes this November.
In a Board of Education Meeting this evening, blueprints were unveiled before residents of Jackson County in hopes of building three new schools.
New Ravenswood and Ripley middle schools and a new elementary for Kenna are on the schedule.
The West Virginia school building authority awarded 15.5 million dollars toward the construction of the new schools, pending that the bond issue passes.
Superintendent Blaine Hess says the county hasn't had a new school since 1960.
The plans also includes additions to four Jackson County elementary schools.
If the bond issue passes, the middle schools and elementary school are scheduled to open for the 2010-2011 school year.
