Gas prices throughout the area have risen to their highest levels since last fall.
Prices of $2.35 a gallon for regular were seen in both Wood and Washington counties Tuesday afternoon
Some out-of-town motorists said prices rose in their areas as well.
"They went up...everything's sky high," said Louis Shroyer, of Dover, Ohio.
"I see $2.29 down here," said Perry Simpson of Youngstown, "so they're definitely higher down here."
Market prices have recently risen above the $50 a barrel mark.
Prices may also be rising in anticipation of the beginning of the summer travel season.
