It Was Fun While It Lasted
WTAP News
We've enjoyed a long period of gas prices below $2 a gallon. But those relatively low prices may have come to an end Tuesday.

Hey bicycle.....your absolutly right. Time to go back to community gardens. Help each other. I hope some will but I think alot only concern themselves with their own needs and not that of their neighbors. Help each other.

It's all about $$$, plan your trips, ride share... buy less gas.

What a load of tripe! That's the VERY same gas in the holding tanks that was $1.97 last week, amazing how it got out of an underground tank and resold itself overnight. Someone out there is making quite alot of OUR money.

So the question might be why do we here in the MOV pay that much more than our neighboring cities?

I am so with the person talking about all of our other bills going up! Even my property taxes went up. Funny, with how property prices are down. Nope, I will not be driving too far this summer, and I will not be running the air conditioner too much this summer. It even looks like it will be tomato sandwiches all summer. Thank God for the produce we can have for next to free. Looks like it is time to pull the bicycle out of the garage again. I am really hating (as I am sure you all are too) all the increases in taxes, bills, groceries and so forth. At least we can take comfort with complaining to eachother, cause I doubt it will make a difference with the "big guys" P.S. I hate even buying milk and eggs now. Maybe we should start up neighborhood chicken coops and have a neighborhood dairy cow or two! In times like these we have all got to work together to help one another.

what a coinicidence like todd said the firsr holiday of the summer season is just arond the corner the oil companies know this it happens every year people travel more and you have to mow grass and use power equipment to take care of your yards it is all part of the oil companys way to take advantage of you not to mention that public transportation is almost non existant in this state they literally have us over a barrel an oil barrel that is

It's not supply & demand ("simple economics"). The talking heads on tv tell us that the oil companies' storage tanks and supply lines are full. Production was reduced because there was nowhere to put the product. It's GREED ! Pure & simple greed. Any supply & demand is created by the oil companies - not consumers. From $1.95 to $2.35 in a matter of days???? Pure oil company greed.

YAWN, and please folks, STOP whining. Prices go up, WORK MORE! Or budget better. It is not gouging, it IS supply and demand. Always has been always will be. And, why shouldnt ANY company charge as much as possible? (profit is the reason to be in business.)It isnt in business for charitable reasons. Or to ensure affodability for folks that like to complain. Folks, either pay up or stay at home. but, enough with the whining and complaining. It is nausiating.

This is just more gouging. Blaming it on supply and demand is BS. If that was the case, why doesn't the news try to explain the BILLIONs in profits made by the oil companies? As long as we sit back and elect oil representatives to lead they will steal. the motto isn't 'Suppy and Demand' its 'Charge what the Market will Bear'. As long as we pay we will pay more.

Oil prices have not gone up. The stations try this every so often (although not to this extreme) to see if we will pay and then the price has gone back down. Buy as little, only as you need and the price will drop again.

It STILL is about supply and demand. As Todd stated, when spring rolls around, the refineries start switching over to another type of production. That limits what's available, and drives prices up. Until production catches up to the demand, expect the price to be up. Ditto in reverse when home heating fuel becomes in demand. It's not rocket science, boys... just economics!
