Memorial Day has many travelers on the road and many stopped by the West Virginia Welcome Center in Williamstown.
The Supervisor of the Welcome Center, Donna Briggs said that they have had less travelers this Memorial Day weekend than last year.
Briggs thinks that the down turn in the economy is the reason for people cutting back on their traveling.
Some out of the travelers said the economy has made them watch a few expenses a long the way.
"We economized, and everything has been fine. We know where to buy the best gas. So we are holding off for a little bit to buy the best gas, " said Julie Euliss from Greensboro, North Carolina.
"It's much better than last year when it was four dollars a gallon, but we are still going to take the ride and do the distance, "said Greg VerPlanck from Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Welcome Center had approximately 2,000 visitors on Saturday and over 1,000 on Sunday.
