Local Speller Comes Home
WTAP-TV After sounding it out for several days in Washington D.C. at the National Spelling Bee, he has come home and talked to WTAP about his unique experience.

15 year-old Stephen Hartline from Woodsfield Ohio returned home Thursday from competition in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
Hartline said the competition did get serious and stressful.
Hartline made it to the third round, but couldn't spell ferruginous
Stephen said all of his family members are good spellers and he wanted carry on the tradition.
The fifteen year old said that he had been studying for the National Spelling Bee twenty minutes a day for four years, but it wasn't enough.
"I think I should of studied more. Toward the end when I went to leave I could of studied more,"said Hartline.
Stephen's mother Mary Hartline was proud of her son's accomplishments, "It was a great experience, it really was."
This year was Stephen Hartline's last chance to be a National Spelling Bee winner, he will be too old to compete next year.
