I am glad the prayers for ur family were held true by the almighty and I am happy ur family gets to stay together I wish u nothing but the best in all you do n life and gives me hope with my relationship that one day we will b able to adopt and have a family of my own regardless of what people say or do just keep ur heads on the right way and stay strong I will continue to pray for u for nothing better than great health and fond memories that u can make as family way to go u r a hero to so many now
I feel like I need to address a couple of comments that have been made. First of all: "It's NOT a matter of whether or not these two ladies are capable of caring for these children, it IS however that the environment in which the child would be raised is NOT a healthy one." Really? Do you think it's not healthy because the gay couple will be doing sexual things in front of the child because that's what gay people do? Give me a break! Do you think children who are raised in heterosexual homes are in healthy environments just because there's a male and a female there? Please...if this is what you believe then you need a dose of reality. Second: "Where are the REAL TRUE Christians who need to be standing up for what is really right?" REAL TRUE Christians don't judge other people. It's not our job and it's not why we're here. God is the only one who truly has the right to pass judgment. If God is unhappy with the way someone has lived their life, then he will punish them. Not us!
Just wanted to comment, first of all this is NOT discrimination.Discrimination is bias based on race,religion or gender. NOT whether you happen to choose a women or a man as your sex partner. what this really boils down to is the erosion of the basic family unit of a man and woman. Can these 2 women raise this child, yea they probably can, does that make it okay? I dont know, personally I think same-sex adoption is weird, it goes against the natural order of things, its just another way for the gay and lesbian community to force a lifestyle choice on the rest of the population. I must agree with "SadDay" it is truly a sad day in the state of WV.
I think it's pretty sick AND sad that #1 ANYONE (especially a judge) thinks that it is ok for homosexual couple have a child in their custody. If God intended for a man to be in a relationship with a man and a woman be in a relationship with a woman and raise children together, He would have given them the correct body parts to make the child together to begin with. It's not normal or natural for two people of the same sex to be in such a relationship together. You people who think this is ok have warped minds and are decieved by the devil himself. Second of all, I think it is pretty pathetic that the majority of the people who have commented on here are FOR homosexual rights. Where are the REAL TRUE Christians who need to be standing up for what is really right?
In terms of thinking of children it takes A MAN & A WOMAN to make children! No matter your sexual orientation it is hard raising children. I feel children need the guidance of the thinking gender (male) & the heart lead gender (female). Please put the children first instead of your own self. Having children is a blessing but as a parent it is about them not the parent!
I dont agree or disagree. I think that a married couple should consist of a man and a woman..(like adam and eve) not (adam and steve)..i guess a gay couple could care for a child just like a straight couple could, but it would be very confusing for a child growing up having 2 moms or 2 dads...not sure how that would work..but whatever. I am not the judge here.
Are you kidding me SadDay??? That child will be lucky because she is with a family that loves her very much. The only thing sad about this situation is the sad small minded people that want to keep a child away from people that love her!!!
Every human beings have rights. I understand that gay people have rights and I respect that, but children have rights too. A child has a right to a mother and father, and gay adopters are denying the kids of that right. It is not natural in the bible or in evolution for the same sex to be able to spawn children. It was never meant for gay people to have children, or they would have them naturally.
What happened , I thought this country was governed by the people, where the majority ruled. but now we have judges changing things to suit themselves.
this is what will be the downfall of America.
If unfit hetero parents cant or are unable to take care of their own kids, & the kids are placed in CPS for adoption, then let someone else that can & wants to, take care of & raise them, regardless of their orientation. As an openly gay man, I adopted 2 boys, ages 4 & 11. They are now 13 & 21. I helped get my oldest son through school and to graduate, with severe learning disabilities. His bio parents never would have been able to do that, no matter what. Dont let orientation get in the way of allowing capable, able, and interested prospective parents become parents. Those wanting to be parents in the GLBT community are just as capable as anyone else. Just because hetero's can have children, dont mean they should. But there's noone to stop them from having more, when, in certain situations, its obvious they shouldnt have had a first one. I'm a good Dad and a good parent. I'm sure that couple in charleston is too. Let them be the parents that child needs them to be.
VERY SAD
Wonderful story! Gay and lesbian couples should be afforded each and every right heterosexuals have. People who judge and condemn others due to who they have sex with, should undergo counseling to find the source of their unjustified hatred.
It should not matter the sex of the parents, only that the child is loved and taken care of. This child was conceived between a man and woman,yet they could not care for him or her. Does the fact that they are both women make them any less able to parent a child? I don't think it does. But also, everyone has a right to their own opinion.
It shouldn't make a difference whether the couple is heterosexual or homosexual. What should make the difference is whether or not they would be good parents. I know PLENTY of gay couples who would make wonderful, nurturing parents. But then, on the flip side of that, there are many HETEROSEXUAL parents out there who shouldn't be allowed to have a pet, let alone care for a child...but I guess it's okay if they're abusive or neglectful...as long as they're not gay, right?! What's really SAD how many CLOSED MINDED people there are in this world.
